Who This Is For
Dogs who enjoy being out with their people but struggle to fully relax
Dogs that get overstimulated in public spaces (whining, pacing, getting “busy”)
Owners who want their dog to calmly coexist at cafés, breweries, patios, parks, and events
Teams preparing for Paws & Pints or other social, public-facing outings
Dogs who are friendly or neutral with other dogs and people (not reactive)
Not appropriate for dogs with active aggression or significant reactivity in public environments.
Skills Your Dog Should Have
Ability to remain on leash calmly
Basic handler engagement (can respond to name, food, or leash guidance)
Comfortable being within sight of other dogs and people without reacting
No history of aggression toward people or dogs
Your dog does not need a perfect “place” or down-stay — this class is where those skills get layered and built for duration and distraction.
Why This Class Is Required for Paws & Pints
Paws & Pints is a real-world social experience, not a training session. Stay & Settle Social ensures dogs are prepared to participate safely, calmly, and respectfully in shared public spaces.
This prerequisite class teaches:
How to settle for extended periods
How to disengage from other dogs, people, food, and movement
How to recover from stimulation without escalating
How handlers can advocate for their dog and prevent overwhelm
By completing Stay & Settle Social first, all teams enter Paws & Pints with shared expectations, foundational skills, and a calm-first mindset—creating a better experience for dogs, owners, venues, and the public.
